In November, 2021, The Accelerator began our second year working with the Gordie Howe International Bridge Project on an initiative funded by the Community Benefits Plan. The full plan includes multiple partners across the region engaged in more than 100 separate initiatives. The full plan is available on the Gordie Howe International Bridge Project website.
Through this initiative, The Accelerator provides support services to existing businesses and those looking to open a new business in Sandwich Town. Through one-on-one visits, focus groups and close collaboration with the Sandwich Town BIA, we gain an understanding of each of the businesses and their unique goals, as well as how those goals can contribute to the growth and success of the Sandwich Town Business District. These focus groups and one-on-one visits will continue through the remainder of 2022.
This year’s focus is on delivering The Accelerator’s Entrepreneur Roadmap Program which helps the participating businesses create a clear path towards solving their most pressing business challenges. In addition to providing these businesses with access to the Entrepreneur Roadmap Program’s database of resources, The Accelerator has also connected them with our partner, Pocketed – a grant-matching platform that connects small businesses with grant opportunities.
In the coming weeks, we will also be providing a self-paced, comprehensive follow-up program designed to help each business reach a valuation of where their business currently is, and to continue building their pathway to reach the business goal that was set in the first session of the Entrepreneur Roadmap Program. This follow-up program includes tangible activities, a video guide and additional one-on-one sessions.
The Accelerator continues to connect local businesses to resources available through our network of partners and we are proud to be able to contribute to a prosperous future for Sandwich Town and its residents.
