You can almost hear the whinny of the carousel horses that Windsor artist Glen Donaldson is bringing back to life with his painting skills.

Donaldson has been commissioned to restore the brilliant colours on five full-size carousel horses purchased in New Jersey.

He said the horses, made of cast aluminum, will each take approximately 30 hours to complete.

Donaldson, who has spent his working life painting everything from signs to motorcycles, canvases to airplanes, uses enamel sign paint and an air brush, working out of a studio in the former Purity Dairy building on Howard Avenue.
